Galactic Panther Art Gallery is excited to announce an opening reception for, “WONDER WOMEN: An International Exhibition of Artwork by Women”. The opening reception will be held Saturday, December 9th from 2:30-6:30 pm. This exhibit opening will be locally catered and feature live music by Chieflow & EazyDoeziT. This art opening celebration is free and open to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted, and all artwork will be for sale.
This exhibition features prints, paintings, drawings, mixed-media works, photography, and sculpture – including affordable gifts from 11 women from around the world. Much of the artwork fluctuates between representational figurative works, and complete abstraction. Two artists working with the figure hail from the west coast. Kamryn Tulare from Seattle creates carefully rendered color pencil portraits, while Marta Thoma Hall is a California based artist who has shared her feminist perspectives via paintings and sculptures in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, as well as internationally in the Costa Rica National MOMA, in London, and beyond. Expressive portrayals of female figures will be on view by Albanian artist Mariella Balitsa who lives in Athens, Greece, and Marija Djakovic who is from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but now lives in Alexandria, VA. Additional regional artists Farida Hughes, & Amanda Lin, along with Sharon Goodman, who hails from the Chicago area, will fulfill the other end of the visual spectrum with their color saturated, non-objective compositions on view. Additional art stars from as far away as Austria will be on view including Lilo Almog, Susannah Carson, Diane Fox, & Annette Jones.
